DataStream API Reference - Complete Guide

Create Event

Creates a new event in the specified stream. Events are immutable once created. The event ID is generated server-side and returned in the response. Events are processed asynchronously; the response confirms acceptance, not processing completion.

Notes

Events are validated synchronously but processed asynchronously. A 201 response means the event was accepted into the processing queue. Use the Event Status endpoint to check processing state. Maximum payload size is 256KB. The occurred_at field is optional and defaults to the server receive time if not provided.

List Events

Retrieves a paginated list of events from the specified stream. Events are returned in reverse chronological order by default. Supports filtering by type, time range, and metadata fields.

Get Event

Retrieves a single event by its ID. The event can be from any stream accessible by the authenticated account. Includes full payload and metadata.

Create Stream

Creates a new event stream. Streams are logical channels that group related events. Each stream has its own retention policy, access controls, and webhook subscriptions.

Updates stream configuration. Only the fields provided in the request body are modified. Stream name changes are propagated to all subscribers.

Notes

Deleted resources are soft-deleted and retained for 30 days before permanent removal. During this period, they can be restored via the support team. After permanent deletion, the data cannot be recovered.


Delete Stream

Permanently deletes a stream and all its events. This action cannot be undone. Active webhook subscriptions are also removed. Pending events in the processing queue are discarded.

Creates a filter rule for a stream. Filters control which events are delivered to subscribers. Multiple filters can be combined with AND/OR logic.

Revoke API Key

Permanently revokes an API key. Revoked keys immediately stop working for all API calls. This action cannot be undone; you must create a new key if access is needed again.
